Ndamukong Suh is now a Subway Famous FanApril 22, 2010
Ndamukong Suh is literally a force of nature by himself. I know you saw the Big 12 Championship game where he made fans questions whether the Texas Longhorns offensive line were on scholarship or a group of walk-ons. The performance put Suh in the limelight and made others who didn’t know take notice of this soon to be NFL Pro Bowler. Although Suh was shunned by the Heisman voters, he won numerous awards such as AP Player of the Year, Outland Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Lombardi Award, Consensus First Team All-American and many more awards. The honor most coveted by Suh was his Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management Engineering this past December. To me that’s the most amazing feat to be able to play college football at such a high level and still be able to earn an engineering degree which is no easy task even for a regular student.
I was recently chopped it up with 1st round draft pick to be, Ndamukong Suh, about the draft, his career as a Nebraska Cornhusker, his NFL future, and now being a Subway Famous Fan.
Me: How hectic has this whole draft process been in comparison to being in school and playing football?
Suh: It’s been crazy. Really busy. It’s a close one which is more busy. I do have a great support staff helping me which is making things go smoothly.
Me: What’s the ideal situation for Ndamukong Suh? What team did you grow up dreaming to play for?
Suh: Honestly, I really didn’t grow up watching football. I was more of a soccer fan. I’m just honored to be apart of this whole process and become a 1st round draft pick.
Me: How disappointed will you be if you’re not selected first by the Rams?
Suh: I’ll be really disappointed to be honest. But whichever team does pick me is going to get a hard working football player looking to get better everyday.
Me: What do you have to say to all the people saying that Gerald McCoy is a better pass rusher and Suh is just a run stopper?
Suh: All I really have to say to them is to look at the tape. I think the Big 12 Championship game showed I’m more than just a run stopper.
Me: Talk about this Subway pepperoni bust they made of you?
Suh: It’s amazing. It’s a waist up sculpture that looks just like me. I was surprised they were to go into detail like that.

Me: What about the healthy eating options at Subway
Suh: I love the pepperoni, it’s the new bacon. Normally when I come to Subway I like to get the Oven Roasted Chicken sandwich. Subway is great, because I’ve
been on the road a lot, and it’s a great place to get healthy food to keep me in shape and fit.

Me: Talk about now being a Subway Famous Fan
Suh: It’s amazing to now be included with all the other Subway Famous Fans like Michael Strahan, C.J. Spiller, Ryan Howard, Justin Tuck and many more great
athletes. All of the Subway Famous Fans are all championship winners and I’m honored to be included with this great group of athletes.
Suh is the real deal bottom line. I’m an OU Sooner though and through and Gerald McCoy is my boy, but Suh is the best DT in this year’s draft. Check him out tonight on ESPN or the NFL Network getting drafted within the first five picks.
