ochowens

Chad OchoCinco and Terrell Owens are a match made in heaven from the fans perspective. Their Hollywood name is of course Ochowens. This could go down as one of the funniest years for football since the Dirty Birds were doing their thing in Atlanta. However, every hater with a pen will tell you there are “clouds” surrounding this odd marriage in Cincinnati.

Is Owens supposedly prima donna attitude going to disrupt what already should be a good Bengals team? Truth be told, I don’t really see the end result of a championship being the primary motivation for the Bengals signing Owens. I think that this duo will shower so much attention on the Bengals and increase the profit margins of the team so much that the 2 million spent on Owens will be well spent. The whole country will tune into every game to see how they perform together.

Furthermore, I can’t personally wait until the first touchdown is scored and what nonsense will occur afterwards? Can you imagine a game where Chad catches two tds and Owens catches two tds as well, the type of antics that fans love and Roger Goodell loses sleep over will surely take up most of NFL live on ESPN! The celebrations would be absurd and so will the ratings. ”And yes, I need both and 85 and 81 Bengals jersey” will be a common phrase in stores this winter. I imagine that every single Bengals home game will be sold out regardless of the opponent weeks in advance. This is a business move for the Bengals and with a one year contract for Owens if things do not work out they can end this “match made in heaven” quite easily. This is also an easy fit from the X’s and O’s perspective as well, you can’t pay special attention to any one receiver in this offense, because they are loaded at WR with either Jordan Shipley or Antonio Bryant in the slot, the result is going to be trouble.

Chad Ochocinco said on twitter that the real benefactor will be the Cincy’s run game which should really benefit from all the attention given to Carson Palmer and this tremendous corp of WR’s. You can say what you want to say, but this is one of the smartest moves made by an NFL team outside of the Jets in a player acquisitions this year. Look for the Bengals to win at least 12 games if they can stay healthy. I would not be too surprised to see them in Super Bowl XLV next year either. Let the games begin!!!!!
