Do’s and Dont’s of Dez BryantJuly 26, 2010
Here is how the situation went down…from my point of view just an hour and a half away from San Antonio, TX. I wasn’t there, but I write for a living so lemme use my imagination on this one.
Roy Williams: (Inside his head), Damn this rookie is good as hell. Let me make him my bitch now, because he’s gonna make me ride the bench later on.
Roy Williams: “Yo, Dez, here go my pads….handle that Rookie. LOL”
Dez Bryant: (Inside his head), This ninja must of lost his damn mind. They brought me here to replace you bruh, I ain’t carrying shit.
Dez Bryant: “Naw dogg, I get paid to play wide receiver not be Roy Williams personal assistant.”
Dez Bryant then trots off and Roy Williams has a stunned look on his face with other veterans looking and laughing at him. Roy Williams is probably thinking in his head, this mothersucka right here!
I don’t know Dez Bryant, but I do know a few do’s and don’ts.
Don’t ask Dez to tell you the truth. Don’t ask him if his mom was a prostitute. Don’t ask him to carry your pads even if he is a Rookie. Do ask Dez to be disrespectful. Do ask Dez to ball out of control on and off the field. Do ask Dez to surprise everyone and be the first 1st round draft pick to sign his contract. Do ask Dez to just be Dez which is highly talented, but extremely immature.
It was interesting to read a quote from Bryant that read if he was a rookie free agent he’d do the same thing.
The real question is this: I wonder if Dez really was a rookie free agent, what would he have done in the exact same situation? What do you think?
