100 Greatest Players by NFL Network 100-91September 6, 2010

The NFL network is going once again. I already love their Top 10 lists that they’ve been doing for a while now. But now they’re stirring the pot like never before with their 100 greatest football players of all-time. I’m sure the list will have some people ranked lower than what they should be and higher than they should be. The concept of the show is cool because the show has a narrator but the player also has a presenter, ala the Hall of Fame.
It aired this past Friday night at 10pm EST. I have no clue why the hell it comes on a Friday night so damn late. That can’t be good for ratings, but DVR is in most households so I guess it’s cool. I’m going to update this regularly as their reveal their list. So Here’s the first installment of 100-91
100. Joe Namath presented by Spike Lee

Some say dude was overrated, clearly the NFL network doesn’t think so. Hey, he won a Super Bowl and stood tall and wasn’t afraid of the NYC media.
99. Michael Strahan presented by Jon Runyan

They don’t make DE’s like Stahan anymore. Most of these new cats are too light in the ass to stop the run and just want to speed rush all day long. How the hell can you be a pretty boy on the D-line? Not my man Strahan though.
98. Lee Roy Selmon presented by Ron Wolf

BOOMER!!!! SOONER!!!!!
97. Derrick Brooks presented by Jon Gruden

Too little huh? That’s why I never listen to the so called experts. FYI Tampa Bay is stupid for cutting his career short. I wish he would have went to the Falcons and made them pay for that move.
96. Mel Hein presented by Steve Hirdt

Not even gone lie. Never heard of dude in my life. Way before my time. But if he’s on this list I’ma do some research.
95. Larry Allen presented by John Randle

You want to know how Emmitt Smith got to the Hall of Fame. See above speeding glacier.
94. Lenny Moore presented by Bobby Mitchell

That boy ran like the Klu Klux Klan was on the field with him….Well, it was the 60s so who knows what they were telling him on the field.
93. Sam Huff presented by Sonny Jurgensen

One of the greatest New York Giants of all-time.
92. Michael Irvin presented by Troy Aikman

What the hell? #92? What other receivers are ahead of him? I need to know now, not now, but right now.
91. Fran Tarkenton presented by Senator Amy Klobuchar

Who woulda thunk it? The OG of scrambling QBs is a white boy. He did his thing though, check him out on YouTube.
I like their picks so far, except for The Playmaker. 90-81 will air on the NFL Network this Tuesday at 9pm EST
That’s all I got,
