NCAA Football is WAY better than the NFLSeptember 3, 2010

Football season is getting under way very soon. We’ll actually it’s been under way. The NFL preseason started on August 6th and most high schools across the U.S. started playing games this past weekend. Ok, who am I kidding, preseason NFL football sucks and the average fan doesn’t watch the high school sports showcase on ESPN during Friday nights. The real football starts one NCAA football opens their regular season with the NFL regular season getting underway the following week.
My question is which one is better, NFL or NCAA football?
There’s no doubt that the NFL game is comprised of the best of the best that formerly played NCAA football. The game is much faster and physical and far more sophisticated. Those spread options you see in the college ranks and primarily running quarterbacks don’t fly in the NFL(Someone go get Tim Tebow and tell him this immediately. These boys will pick off that slow release and bring the wood when they hit ya!) The NFL has stars that are marketable, jerseys with your favorite players name on the back, ad campaigns geared around your Sunday afternoon hero. Oh and the NFL happens to have one of the biggest sporting events in the world, the Super Bowl.
NCAA football has the pageantry, tradition and effort. Yeah, I said effort. These kids are playing for that NFL check and that BCS National Championship. Face it, the NFL gets pretty lame around Week 13 or 14 with teams already having sowed up their playoff spots and not wanting to risk injury they’ll leave their starters on the bench. Teams that don’t have a chance in hell are already thinking about the offseason and playing not to get hurt. Naw playa, not in college ball. These boys are hungry and want it. Although college football may not have the big name stars as the NFL, they have future stars that fans latch onto when these kids are freshmen. The college game also has the Heisman Trophy and the holiday bowl games. Speaking of bowl games they have the cluster fuck that is the BCS. As much as I hate it, The BCS vs. playoff debate is definitely something to talk about in the barbershops, parks, car washes or wherever your back and forth football banter takes place.
It’s a tough one, because I love both games, but I have to roll with college game over the NFL. They play harder and there is more to talk about. Every game matters in college football. Last thing, the college jerseys are flyer, way flyer than the NFL. The players do their best to stay fresh and spatted up. The NFL has them boys wearing God-awful socks. The NFL also stand for No Fun League. If they think of celebrating with some flair and flavor…brrrrrrrtt the whistle is blowing and they are getting the flag. In college, the just have fun, point blank.
I’m riding with my man Asher Roth, I love college. But of course, I’m just one man. What do you guys think? Would you rather watch NFL or NCAA football?
That’s all I got,
