Top 100 NFL Players: #80 – 71September 18, 2010

The third installment of the NFL Networks 100 Greatest NFL Players list aired Thursday night with players 80 – 71. The more and more I watch this series the more and more I love it. No quips about this installment. I feel like everyone is where they should be. The next list of players 70 – 61 will air on the NFL Network September 23th at 9pm EST.
80. Troy Aikman presented by Drew Brees

Probably the most accurate passer that I’ve seen in my short lifetime.
79. Emlen Tunnell presented by Michael MacCambridge

The first African-American player for the NY Giants. The first African-American inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1952, Tunnell had more yards on pick returns and kick off returns than the Giants top rusher…lol, damn. Only missed one game in 14 years.
78. Bruce Matthews presented by Warren Moon

Made All-Pro as a center and a guard and played 19 seasons in the league.
77. Tony Dorsett presented by Roger Staubach

Plenty of backs have had shakers since Dorsett, i.e. Barry Sanders and plenty have had speed i.e. Eric Dickerson and Chris Johnson but no one..has had the shakes and speed of Tony Dorsett since.
76. Art Shell presented by Ron Wolf

The iciest lineman ever…you see the forearm pad he used to rock. Jim Marshall still has nightmares about this guy.
75. Darrell Green presented by Carl Lewis

Ran a 10.08…that’s a true world class sprinter…a true sub 4.2 40 yard dash. You couldn’t teach his speed, you couldn’t measure his heart, but you saw how hard he worked.
74. Marion Motley presented by Mike Brown

Earl Campbell, before Earl Campbell. I just loved that he rocked #76. Still has highest avg. yards per carry in NFL history with 5.7 per tote. Also one of four football players to break the pro football color barrier in 1941.
73. Ozzie Newsome presented by Bob Trumpy

Greatest all around Tight End ever….some would say so.
72. Jonathan Ogden presented by Michael Strahan

The most powerful Left Tackle….EVER!!!! Yeah, nigga, I said ever!!!
71. Paul Warfield presented by Mecury Morris

The most acrobatic wide out ever….never seen this guy make an ugly catch.
That’s all I got,
