Upset WeekendOctober 28, 2010
I’m calling “Upset Weekend” right now. Several favorites in college football will go down this weekend.
I can’t quite call the Auburn upset with confidence, so I won’t. But it will be a close game with the struggling Ole Miss Runnin’ Rebels. Auburn has one two huge games over top 15 teams. The #1 bullseye is on their back and the last three #1 teams to go on the road have lost in Bama, Ohio State, and Oklahoma last weekend. The Tigers will pull it out, but it’ll be close.
The Ducks will go down against USC this weekend. The Trojans are easily the most athletic team the Ducks will face all season long. Matt Barkley is slowly getting better. The Ducks are on the road. The only hopes the Ducks have is to expose the not good at all Trojan linebackers. I don’t think it’s going to happen though.
Michigan State will go down on the road against Iowa this weekend also. Iowa is flat out too good to lose back to back games. The come from behind victory last weekend that the Spartans had was a good one, but they are showing that they are slowly losing focus. Iowa however ugly their uniforms are is a very good team. They have the home field advantage and all the motivation in the world.
Missouri is #6 lol. Now this is the bitter Sooner in me, but the Tigers will be exposed this weekend. They did not beat OU last weekend, OU beat themselves. This Nebraska team is a monster that the Tigers want no parts of. T. Magic is going to get it in.
It’s odd that Baylor is ranked and Texas is unranked. Texas is at home. Mack Brown has lost three games this year and the Longhorns are done losing this season. Look for their streak to start this weekend against Baylor. The Longhorns have better athletes who are young and will get it together very soon. I mean, its Baylor, come on dogg.
The key to these upsets is all of these teams are on the road. They are all coming off of big wins and they are all going to get caught slipping. These are college athletes who cannot handle the emotional highs and lows. They partied it up last weekend, felt the love of the student body all this week, drank their own kool-aid, etc. They’re going to get caught sleeping this weekend and won’t wake up until they see the scoreboard that’s out of their reach in the 4th quarter.
