Monday Morning Cornerback: Week 11November 15, 2010
Here are my quick cuts and jukes from Week 11 in football…if you want something that gives you more access and is more “credible”, checkout Peter King’s Monday Morning Quarterback…but if you want quick hits, jukes and entertainment…stay here.
Oregon is clearly the #1 team in the country. The had to play a slowed down, fist fight style of game against Cal and their #10 ranked defense against the run and the Ducks found a way to pull it out and survive.(yes, I meant to say that last part)
Did you really think Auburn head coach Gene Chizik was going to sit Cam Newton? There are no such things as moral victories in football, but there are such things as ‘who cares what the record books said, we won it on the field’. No matter what the rulings of Cam’s eligibility come out to be, every game they’ve won so far has been won semi-fair and square on the field, and honestly…that’s all the matters.
Also…don’t act like you didn’t see A.J. Green doing work on them boys….Who would you rather have Julio or A.J.?
Still drinking the TCU Kool Aid, and it’s still yummy in the tummy. They took out an overrated Utah team last week and duked it out in a thriller over an underrated San Diego State team this week.

Boise State played….you know what kind of team they played, and you have a general idea of whether it was close or not…and you know damn well that they won.
It’s smooth sailing for LSU, they drilled UL-Monroe on Saturday…they have Ole Miss next week…but then it gets interested Thanksgiving weekend when they play Arkansas. Who’s got the juice, Les Miles or Ryan Mallett?
Indiana 20 points…Wisconsin 83 points. Yes, the same Wisconsin that’s pound it out control the clock aka slow ass offense scored 83 points. I bet you there are HS teams in Cali, Florida, Texas and hell why not Mexico that could get with Indiana.
Stanford is using all their brain power to figure out how they can crack this BCS equation. If they woulda used their brawn against Oregon last month they’d be good as gold right now.
I’m convinced Ohio State’s slow starts are nothing more than theatrics.
Nebraska lurks…(how the hell did they lose to Texas?)
Bama won…but I’m pissed because I do not like their Nike Pro Combat jerseys…there’s virtually no difference from their regular jerseys much like Texas last year. Also, the jerseys were themed around rivalries…so why wear them when they play Miss. State who is not a Nike school but an Adidas school. So why not wear the uniforms against Auburn..so what if the Tigers are an Under Armour school. I’m confused.
Oklahoma State isn’t lurking…them boys are dead real serious! OU and Nebraska stand in their way.
I’ve been singing Iowa and their ugly jersey wearing selves praises all season long. I’ve said nothing about Northwestern who has the exact same record and beat Iowa this weekend. Sorry Wildcats.
Arkansas has a few exhibition games as they get ready for LSU in two weeks.
Utah is no longer lurking…they just tripping. Losing to Notre Dame is like losing to an FCS powerhouse…yeah I said it.
A Hokie is a Broncos best friend.
I feel like I’ve been in a new relationship with my horse blinders on. I’ve refused to listen to everyone around me regarding Mississippi State. Everyone said they were overrated…and the ugly truth was presented to me this Saturday as they tried to play Bama.
Arizona lost this week…but they’ll win next week…against Oregon..mark my words homie!

Missouri beating Kansas State was about as exciting as I just wrote it.

As of Thursday, Roddy White led the league in catches with 70 and only had one drop all year long. People Do Change.

The 2005 Rose Bowl Redshirt game was played in Cleveland yesterday…Mark Sanchez played the roll of Vince Young and Colt McCoy stared as Matt Leinhart. Santonio Holmes played the roll of “that nigga”!
It was also the “Swear Bowl”…with Rex, Rob, and Buddy Ryan all going to war…..Buddy won with 257 curse words to Rex’s 239, and Rob with 194.

Mike Thomas caught the last second, end of the game hailmary from David Garrad to beat the Houston Texans. Moments later reports came out of Cincy that a light skinned sports fanatic had caught the holy ghost in Fountain Square. The perp was later identified as @EdtheSportsfan.
The Lions vs. Bills game was about as exciting as the way I wrote it, up until the last few minutes when the Bills pulled out their first win all season.
My good friend Colin Cowherd(sike, that dude has no clue who I am) always says..you can tell a star when you see one. Sam Bradford…star, Colt McCoy good quarterback/possible star….Jimmy Clausen..not a star. Josh Freeman…star. Josh Johnson…Matt Schaub.
