My emotional reaction to the Donovan McNabb benching is WTF!?! It’s Donovan McNabb man! He’s a perennial Pro Bowler, 2nd or 3rd ballot Hall of Famer. He’s black, and I’m black, therefore I want to see him succeed. (Although I may not say it aloud, that’s certainly what my subconscious is thinking)
My rational reaction is….about damn time. The great Shawn Carter once said, “men lie, women lie, numbers don’t”. I present to you exhibit A, Donovan’s 2010 numbers.

260 yd/game – 7th in the league
14 td – 20th in the league
15 picks – tied 5th in the league
37 times sacked 2nd in the league
77.1 passer rating 25th in the league
Interesting that everyone made huge deal about Donovan’s extension, when all it really was, was just a 3.5 million dollar bonus for this year with an option to let him go at the end of the year. The Skins have until September 2011 to make the decision to keep McNabb and be left on the hook to pay him big money or let him go. Shanahan knew exactly what he was doing and fooled all of yall. Ok, he got me too.
So…DC fans…Rex Grossman is your leader. Have fun with that. Not saying he’s better than Donovan. But “rationally thinking” if it’s broke, then fix it. You’ve had 13 weeks to watch McNabb lead you all to 5 victories and 8 losses. Change is good, kinda. Might as well see if Grossman(same age as Michael Vick) has gotten serious about being a QB or if the Skins need to draft one in April. Either way, Donovan is gone, and HONESTLY…as a Redskins fan, you should be happy.
