Tuesday Night Football: What to make of itDecember 28, 2010

Well…I’m going to give this analysis without looking at stats.
Minnesota was a 14 point underdog to the Eagles. They won by 10 points. I almost made the bet too, thankfully I didn’t. The game was plain sloppy. Both teams looked lethargic. The Eagles clearly weren’t ready to play. Neither were the coaches. The Vikings blitzed Antione Winfield off the edge a gabajazillion times. No one seemed to care as Vick took shot after shot. Vick was pressing as well, I haven’t seen him play this bad all year long, throwing balls off his back foot and just missing throws altogether. It was as if he left his mechanics in his hotel room.
Do remember, the NFL off day is Tuesday.
The Vikings won fair and square and played…well…but it’s fair to say the Eagles weren’t the Eagles. Vick was limping all game and DeSean Jackson had a flat tire(foot issues), which is why he only went back to return one punt.
So…what do we make of Tuesday Night Football….umm it’s about as stupid an idea as an 18 game schedule. In hindsight they should have played on Sunday or Monday at least. Leslie Fraizer should get the Vikings job. Adrian Peterson fumbled again….for the first time since last year. Good job AD on fixing that problem. Michael Vick had three turnovers and the Eagles looked like they weren’t ready to play. Joe Webb looked good. Don’t wanna overreact just yet The Eagles lost their shot at a first round playoff bye….and any more talk of Vick MVP talk should now cease.
