Monday Morning Cornerback: Week 20January 17, 2011
You’ve got to love football. Especially this past weekend’s games. This time of the year is nothing but great football but also a time of sadness because I know it’s coming to an end very soon. Here are my quick cuts and jukes from this weekend’s action.
So basically, Matt Ryan is the new Aaron Rodgers and Colin Cowherd received 1.2 emails with the title…”You fucking idiot, Aaron Rodgers is the shit!” I don’t write emails to radio show host, I got other things to do. But it’ll be interesting to see what my homie C.C. has to say about Rodgers performance this past weekend. I’m confused as to why the Falcons melted down like that? They were in the top 5 in the regular season in terms of not having turnovers and they simply imploded….AT HOME.
Best game of the weekend was Baltimore at Pittsburgh. If it looks like a rout and smells like a rout…it might not always be a rout. The Steelers came back from being down 21-7. They fought and scraped but let’s be honest. The Ravens gave the game away. I have no clue what happened to Joe Flacco or their prevent defense at the end of the game either. Maybe Ray Lewis needs to pull a little Owen Marecic and play FB so someone in the Ravens offensive huddle can invoke life into them. It was a pure lack of leadership the led to the drop balls, miscues, and a gift wrapped division playoff comeback win for the Steelers.
The Bears game was so damn boring. You knew the Seahawks’ luck would end this week if you weren’t from the state of Washington. As my boy DragonflyJones on twitter says.. “Jay Cutler is the #bestwhackqbever”. I still don’t trust him no matter what.
I told you the Jets would win this weekend didn’t I. Rex Ryan is not getting beat twice. He talks shit because he’s made a living backing it up. He tried to be modest in his press conference, but it’s a coach’s league. Although the score said the Patriots put up 21 points, 10 of those came in garbage time. Rex Ryan held Bill Belichick and his offense to 11 points. The defense hounded Tom Brady all day long too. Regardless of what you think about Sanchez….he won. Crazy how everyone was expecting the Jets to put their foot in their mouths this weekend and they put it up the Patriots ass instead. Now, that’s some kinky shit.
