One of this weekend’s Divisional Playoff matchups pits the now (8-9) Seattle Seahawks vs The (11-5) NFC North Champions, Chicago Bears. Now for the record, lets throw out the records, because the Seahawks clearly aren’t playing by their record. Hasselbeck and Co. thrashed the former Super Bowl champs in a seemingly euphoric victory. Even when everybody, including most Seattle fans themselves, had no faith in them even competing, let alone winning in such a fashion, they marched the Saints right on back to New Orleans. Being a Saints fan, I simply say, “Why you bringing up old stuff, that was sooo last week.” So we move forward to this week, “How to Escape from a Bear!”

According to http://www.wikihow.com/Escape-from-a-Bear there are a few steps you can take to escape the grasp of a bear. Have a looksee.

1)Avoid close encounters – If Seattle lets Chicago hang around late in the 4th qtr, Chicago will more than likely pull it out.
2)Keep your distance – Just like the N.O. game, once Seattle got up, they were able to match every score the Saints had, keeping their lead. They will have to do this again.

3)Stand tall, even if the Bears charges you – Look for Chicago to put it on the ground and smash Seattle in the face, it’s up to that front seven to holds its ground.

4)Know your Bear(s) – Evaluation is key. Finding and matching up with Johnny Knox and Greg Oslen on defense will be critical to Seattle’s victory.

5)Understand the Bear’s Motivation – Chicago probably feels as if they are Super Bowl worthy. Catch the Bears with a snuff while their not looking at you and this Divisional game, but as they are looking past you towards the Super Bowl.

6)Respond appropriately based on the situation – K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) you still are the Seattle Seahawks, don’t try to be someone else now. Stay grounded and don’t take any unnecessary risks.

7)Consider last minute escape techniques – Olindo Mare is 7/7 in the 30-39 range. A game winning FG has to be from that range to get out live. So you see, according to www.wikihow.com, you CAN stay alive in the hunt for the Lombardi. Now with that being said, I’d like to add my personal 8th and 9th rules for this Sunday’s game.

8)Wear Bright Colors – the Seattle Green just happens to be a nice fit. Those gloves and cleats really go hard, I mean, considering you wear bright colors to hunt.

9)DON’T SHOOT YOURSELVES IN THE FOOT – Enough said.

If you follow these steps Seattle, you can escape from The Bears. If you don’t, get ready to be eaten alive. Are you ready? Let the hunt begin!
