Changing of the SeasonsFebruary 3, 2011

We all of know the four major season changes that you go through during the year: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Each season brings you good day and bad occurrences that you just aren’t ready for but happen within the blink of an eye, such as weather, natural disasters and what not, you get the idea. Well, the NFL is also sliced up into four seasons just the same: Pre-Season, Regular Season, Post Season and the Off-Season. These NFL seasons are also jam packed with those same random occurrences that no matter how prepared you think you are, in reality, are just as devastating as a blizzard or earthquake.
So this year if you’re not a Green Bay or Pittsburgh fan then you are well into your fourth season, the Off-Season. This is when all the action REALLY takes place with the hiring’s and firing’s of coaches, the rumors of who, what, when, where, and how. Add the draft and free agency and the world gets crazy with wishful thinking and he said she said’s that can last all the way to the beginning of the season (Just ask Mr. Favre).
Now for some of you fans, your off season really starts in Week 5 when your team is 0-5. Most of these fans are college football fans as you watch praying that your team tanks the season to get the first overall pick. Sad, yet true! I digress.
Teams like Dallas, Denver, Oakland, San Francisco, Oakland and recently Tennessee have been making there fans roll over in their sleep with some of the decisions that have been made already. Dallas named Offensive Coordinator, Jason Garrett as head coach. Oakland’s Nnamdi Asomugha’s contract was voided making him a free agent. San Fran hired Jim Harbaugh. Last week, Tennessee and 17 year head coach Jeff Fisher decided it was best to part ways. Tennessee was also in a noose trying to figure out what to do with former starting QB, Vince Young. Now that the Titans have let both go, the Titans front office is going to have a lot of work ahead of them. These are just a few changes made, and it’s not even the official off season yet. Now that’s heavy, and I don’t even have a brother.
Tis the season to be jolly, that is if you are a Cheese Head or own a Terrible Towel waver. If you’re like me, you’re biting your nails in anticipation for what this off season brings to your beloved team. You’re reeady to cuss out every decision your team’s front office has, is, and will make until opening day. Once that day comes, love it or hate, you will become a true supporter of the cause; that is until Week 5 and your back in the Off-Season again. Sad, yet true!
