Rookies of the YearFebruary 5, 2011
The AP released their Rookie of the Year winners yesterday. They got the Offensive ROY right by giving the nod to Sam Bradford. He played in all 16 games had 18 tds and 15 picks with virtually no WRs. He also led his team within a game of the playoffs. Sam balled out plain and simple, no explanation really needed for him winning this award.
Now, Defensive ROY went to Ndamukong Suh. The man is a beast and recorded 10 sacks which was the most of any DT in the league this year.
Perception isn’t always reality because as soon as i found out last night. I said Earl Thomas should have won ROY, but then someone quickly checked me and said Devin McCourty should have won it. I agreed but said I needed to so some more fact checking. I just did and hell, Joe Haden had more picks than Earl Thomas and Eric Berry. McCourty had the best stats of all the DBs. I stand corrected. Suh was a beast and should have won it.
