That Didn’t Take LongFebruary 7, 2011

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers defeated Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers to win Super Bowl XLV. You may not have seen it last night, but Rodgers also defeated the shadow of Brett Favre last night. If Rodgers didn’t do enough last night, he also won the Super Bowl MVP award, which Favre never did.
The game wasn’t as great as everyone expected it to be, but it was still a good watch. It featured two of the most storied franchises in NFL history, two incredible elite quarterbacks and two top notch defenses. The Steelers known for their Steel Curtain were a little to stiff and not able to keep up with the speedy Packers. More surprising was the fact that Steelers were physically out-matched by the Packers as well.
The Packers got on top of the Steelers early with a 21-3 lead in the 2nd quarter. They were gracious enough to let the Steelers score a touchdown going into halftime to bring their lead to only 11 points. The Steelers rode that momentum by scoring in their first drive after halftime. Once that happened, I thanked the Lord, because I hate blowout Super Bowls.
