We have finally arrived to Super Bowl XLV. On February 6th in Dallas, Texas the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers will take the stage in a glorious battle amongst two historical titans of the NFL. The winner will proclaim the right to lift the Lombardi trophy up over their heads, give thanks to the world, and modestly say, “Yeah, we good, we good”. How did that sound? Did it grab your attention? Well good because that’s not what this game is about at all.
This game also isn’t about the success of the offenses vs. the NFL’s #1 and #2 top rated defenses. This game has nothing to do with the matchup of Big Ben vs. Nimble Aaron Rodgers. Troy Polamalu and Charles Woodson’s impact on the defensive side is not what this game is about either. We could compare Clay Matthews vs. Jerome Harrison’s pass rushing capabilities, but is that what this game is about? Think again.
Now with most of the actual football game out the way, do you have a clue? Is it the Terrible Towel vs. The Cheese Head? Now you are warming up.
This game is actually being played to decide the anthem for the spring and summer. That’s right you heard me. Laugh, but think about it. Now the odds on favorite is Pittsburgh, AND they already have a heavy hitting anthem with Wiz Khalifa’s Black and Yellow.
But that doesn’t mean that the underdogs of Green Bay aren’t ready to step the stage. The fans of GB head their own versions to bring out with
Not to mention, Weezy has also gotten in on the party.
So you see, this game has more riding on it than you even thought possible.
Make sense now? The winner of the game will boast the rights to the song each and every time a highlight is shown; flooding the air waves with more “Black and Yellow” or creating a new buzz with “Green and Yellow”. As of right now both teams and anthems are so far apart, the only way we will find the true winner is once we “Push To Start!”
