Brady’s Rhyme and Reason: Overlooked and ObsessedApril 13, 2011

So I was watching The Brady 6 yesterday on ESPN. It’s their Year of the Quarterback series, and this episode featured Tom Brady and the six quarterbacks drafted ahead of him in the 2000 draft. I became a Tom Brady fan after watching last night.
I’ve always respected Brady, highly. I mean, he’s Tom Brady. You see the passion he plays with and the fact that he just makes plays time and time again….how can you not respect that? He was talking about his draft day in 2000, when he was picked in the 6th round. He spoke of his anger and frustration. He talked about taking a walk with his parents. In the midst of all this Brady came to tears during his interview. To see him crying last night about the emotions he went through back was awesome(not in a jerk sort of way, but as a fan to see his passion). It’s been over 11 years since that happened to him, and it still bothers him.
You see the passion and fuel that drives this man to be great. He said during the segment that when he was in college if he didn’t practice well on Tuesday and Wednesday he didn’t know if he was going to start(He split time with Drew Henson) so that’s one of the reasons why he goes so hard today.
But seriously though…Three championships, records on records, MVPs, millions of dollars, a super model wife….11 years later the thing that drives Brady is being drafted in the 6th round. You’re not a real man if you can’t admire and respect that.
That’s all I got,
