We all know about the NFL lockout. I believe in speaking things into existence so every night I pray with a makeshift Lombardi trophy raised to the sky for the NFL to start on time. But what if….the lockout lingers and there is no NFL until October or November?
This is where Pac-10 (soon to be Pac-12) commissioner Larry Scott comes into play. The man helped transform WTA and is trying to do the same with college football. Scott has gone on the record to say that if the lockout lingers, the Pac -10 will play some of it’s games on Sunday. The best ideas are always the most simple.
Everyone wins in this situation. Americans will watch any kind of football they can as long as it’s competitive, so even if you’re not a die hard college football fan you will be watching. The Pac-10 will get a whole day of football to itself. The conference features Heisman Trophy candidate Andrew Luck of Stanford and BCS Runner-Up Champion, Oregon.
The logistics of exactly how it’s going to be done hasn’t been figured out, but it will be done if the lockout persists.
So there you have it, we will have football on Sunday.
