NFL Top 100 of 2011: 60-51May 30, 2011

The fifth installment of the NFL Network’s Top 100 players of 2011 aired last night. There were quite a few surprises. Check ‘em out after the drop. Also, make sure you tune into NFL Network at 8pm EST every Sunday to check the rest of the players on the list.

60. Justin Tuck presented by Steve Spagnuolo – Osi gets all the accolades on the other side, but true fans know that Tuck is the better all-around DE. One of the reasons Osi is so good is because Tuck is on the other side doing more damage than a puppy on a laxative in your living room.

59. Jeff Saturdaypresented by Peyton Manning – Let’s see here…not drafted. Cut by the Ravens in ’98. Only started two games for the Colts in ’99 and has been their starting center ever since 2000. Five time Pro Bowler and one of the many reasons Peyton Manning gets mroe protection than the secret service gives Mr. President.

58. Brandon Lloyd presented by Brian Dawkins - Most classic thank you for being named to the Pro Bowl Ever. The man is the prettiest catcher in the league and once he started doing it consistently he was recognized.

57. Andre Gurode presented by Tony Sparano – Converted center to dominating guard.

56. Ray Rice presented by Maurice Jones-Drew – Ain’t this cute, one midget presents another midget. And….another midget (myself 5’8″) writes about it. Every back under 5’6″ owes Rice and Drew some money for repaving the way for short backs.

55. Carl Nicks presented by Jonathan Vilma – Being real, I’m not even going to try and pretend like I know who this guy is. But if the players voted him in, he’s got to be that deal.

54. Asante Samuel presented by Juan Castillo – Asante doesn’t get enough respect. We hoot and holler about Revis, Champ, and Nnamdi, but where is Asante’s love? He’s got the most picks in the past 5 years with 36. He’s ran 8 picks back for touchdowns. He’s got 4 playoff pick 6′s in his career also. Don’t forget about those two Super Bowl rings. The man deserved to “Get Rich To This”.

53. Marques Colston presented by Jon Gruden – Yo, can Jon Gruden just present everyone please? Oh yeah, Colston is a beast, plain and simple. Think Keyshawn Johnson without the mouth.

52. Matt Ryan presented by Jerry Glanville – Mattey Ice baby! The best young quarterback in the league hands down.

51. Ndamukong Suh presented by Mike Tice – Clearly he deserves to be on the list, but this is way too low. This kid came into the pros as ready as Tim Duncan….No flaws at all, he’s easily one of the top 25 players in the league right now.

Extras:
59 offensive players are the list…big surprise.
Only 1 heisman winner made the lis…. which further proves that award really means nothing.
The “U” has the most players on the list with 10.
Florida or Florida State don’t have any players…which is ridiculous that Anquan Boldin didn’t make this list. Just goes to show you some players can play, but have no clue about the game.
12 undrafted players made the list…(keep grinding because you never know what’s going to happen)

That’s all I got,

Ricky Writer
