The second installment of the NFL Top 100 Players of 2011 came out this past Sunday. Here are numbers 90-81. Make sure you tune in
90. Joe Flacco presented by John Harbaugh
I didn’t know what to make of Flacco coming out of a D-1AA college, but he’s balled out since he came into the league. He’s the only player ever to win a playoff game in his first three years. Now he just needs to get over the hump and take his team to the Super Bowl.
89. Adrian Wilson prsented by Ken Whisenhunt
The man is apart of the illustrious 20 sack and 20 picks club. Oh and he can do this….
88. Vernon Davis by Takeo Spikes
I was onto this guy his jr. year at Maryland when I saw his workout numbers going into the season. He continued to ball out. It took him a minute to get going in the league, but once he did…it was curtains. I wonder what other four tight ends are ranked higher because honestly, I’d say Davis is #2. It’d be clear to everyone else if he played on a better team.
87. Jordan Gross by John Fox
He was good coming out of college. Then he went beast mode. Why? He went up against Julius Peppers everyday in practice, that’s why.
86. Josh Freeman presented by John Abraham
So maybe I was wrong when I said Josh Johnson was a better QB. Crazy thing is that Freeman was almost a Jet. But he’ll be in Tampa for a long time, this kid can sling it.
85. Jason Babin by Jim Washburn
I’m a huge fan because of his grind and his story. If I hear anything about roids, I’ll be pissed. Either way…he was drafted high and was a bust for the first six years of his career. Never had more than five sacks in a season…and then once he got traded to the Titans…(in the words of Bomani Jones)…he was BLOWING UP!!!!!! Great story about never giving up and continuing to work hard.
84. Josh Cribbs by Pat Shurmur
He’d get just as much attention as Devin Hester if he played on a better team. 8 KO tds in six seasons. Don’t forget about the 2 PR touchdowns either.
83. Mike Williams by Josh Freeman
Easily the best rookie WR drafted in 2010. He had 11tds. He was drafted in the 4th round and was the 14th receiver picked. Lesson to the young bucks….handle your business on and off the field. The only reason Williams slid was because of off-field character issues. It’s not all bad though, if Williams keeps his nose clean, he’ll get a second contract to recoup some money while most of those other cats drafted ahead of him won’t.
82. Lamarr Woodley by Damien Woody
Everyone else on the Steelers defense gets all the press clippings and attention, but Woodley gets the most respect among his peers.
81. B.J. Raji presented by Shaun O’hara

6 players on the list went to D-1AA schools and only one (Joe Flacco) was drafted in the first round.
57 players on the list were drafted in the 1st round, 11 players were drafted in the 2nd round, and 11 were not drafted at all.
The 57 first rounders is the only drafted round of players that outnumber undrafted free agents. So, if you’re not drafted, there’s hope for you.
16 players on the list are under 25
Kent State has three players on the list while Ohio State only has two.
Packers, Colts, Ravens, and Cowboys represent 25 percent of list.
20 percent of the list is represented by Patriots, Saints, Falcons and Chiefs
The Bills and Seahawks are the only two teams not represented on this list.
As important as we think Offensive Tackle is, Tight End is just as important because they both have five players on this list.
My only complaint is that I hate having the coaches talk about current players. They all have dry personalities and are really boring. Why can’t players be represented only by other players or a celebrity. Nonetheless, it’s a great show. Tune in this upcoming Sunday at 8pm EST on NFL network to check out numbers 80-71.
