So with Terrelle Pryor not going back to Ohio State his football future is in jeopardy. Coming out of high school everyone wanted Pryor to be their quarterback. He’s tall, strong, athletic, and has everything you in a quarterback…physically that is. Mentally he was just not there because of his lack of maturity. The NFL may not be an option, I’ve also heard people talking UFL and CFL for Pryor. I hope he reaches his full potential and blossoms in the league, but the odds are against.
Let’s take a look at the NFL’s most wasted talents
10. Peter Warrick
– Have you seen anyone more electric than P-Dub. He’s ten because he did produce big one year and knee injuries derailed him a bit, but he should have been so much better.
9. Bruce Pickens
– How can you be a third overall pick and only start four times in five season and only get two picks?
8. Jamarcus Russell
– I don’t have the words for this guy, but let me try. He checked out the minute he signed his contract. Just think if he cared to try how much better the Raiders would have been.
7. Rick Mirer
– He was athletic, but he could never put it together.
6. Lawrence Phillips
– Dick Vermeil said he was the best RB he’s ever coached. He stayed arguing with coaches and beating up his girlfriends. He needed help more than he needed the NFL. If he had a screw on his head he would have been Adrian Peterson before Adrian Peterson.
5. Steve Emtman – This dude was a beast, but the Astroturf he played on was a bigger beast. The football gods were against him.
4. Tony Mandarich – I guess he shouldn’t be on here because he wasn’t much of a talent without steroids. Yeah, don’t do steroids.
3. Brian Bosworth
– He had it all…the size, the look, the mystique…but he didn’t have the focus to truly ball.
2. Charles Rogers – When he DID play, he balled out, but he was injury prone. And once he was injured, he couldn’t stay off the weed. He’s just not that smart as you can see here.
1. Ryan Leaf – He was picked 2nd overall behind Peyton Manning. He had the arm, but was too immature to put it all together.
