NFL Top 100 in 2011: 10 – 1July 4, 2011
The NFL network’s Top 100 in 2011 list concluded last night. I have a post later about my thoughts on the complete list. But for now, let’s give love to the Top 10 voted by THE PLAYERS.
10. Julius Peppers presented by Rod Marinelli – The most talented DE in the game. He could easily play any position in the front seven and still be dominant.
9. Drew Brees presented by Jonathan Vilma and Sean Payton – Drew Brees > Philip Rivers.
8. Darrelle Revis presented by Rex Ryan – Not better than Nnamdi, but this list thinks so. Probably the best corner at the line of scrimmage of all-time.
7. Andre Johnson presented by Channing Crowder, Terrell Suggs, and Jack Del Rio – About time this man is getting his just do. Imagine how huge of a star he’d be if he talked as much as Ochocinco.
6. Troy Polamalu presented by Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Tomlin – He makes a bigger impact than Ben Roethlisberger.
5. Ed Reed presented by Terrell Owens and Brian Dawkins – The best safety of all-time. Yeah, I said it. The best.
4. Ray Lewis presented by John Harbaugh and Patrick Willis – He’s a little to high for this list, but the players voted….shows you how much respect this man still gets.
3. Adrian Peterson presented by Jonathan Vilma and Leslie Frazier – In ’09 they said if he fixed his fumbling issues he’d be the best. Only 1 fumble in 2010. Fumblitis solved.
2. Peyton Manning presented by Alex Rodriguez and Jon Gruden – I actually think he’s better than Brady, but the list makers don’t. Everyone says he’s had more weapons than Brady…but has he had as good a coach as Brady? Never.
1. Tom Brady presented by Ray Lewis and Darrelle Revis – The man. He’s got the girl, the rings, and the fame. The definition of the American quarterback.
