Drokin MusicAugust 4, 2011

Back in 2008 before Kush & OJ or Magnums, Money, & Music the mixtape of choice in relation to altering my state of mind was Drokin’ Music by my homeboy Yung Lee. He was a classmate of mine who always pushed his music but never annoyed with it because it was quality music. It was 2008 and he was dropping mixtape after mixtape until he dropped this album with production exclusively from Young Money Chris. Going back and listening to it now brings up a well of nostalgia from me but also recognition of a flow that surpasses the average rappers and some clever wordplay that entertains while dropping gems revealing the struggle from a young dude who’s trying to come up. It also makes me miss my friend. Can’t say we had a falling out it was just that one day he just disappeared and I nor any of his close friends could say why. The last time I saw him we were down in Austin partying for Mike graduation and I was just too happy to see him for an interrogation. Whatever reason he had doesn’t really matter I’m just glad he dropped this Drokin’ Music while he was around.
