It’s Not So GoodAugust 26, 2011
In case you’ve been under a hip-hop blog rock since Wednesday, Lil Wayne seems to have responded to Jay-Z’s line in “H.A.M.” that states “…Really you got baby money…ain’t got my lady money” with an even more stinging “Talkin bout baby money, I got your baby money/ Kidnap your b*tch, Get that ‘how much you love your lady?’ money” on Tha Carter IV track “It’s Good.”
The track which also features Drake and Jadakiss (who took to Twitter to vehemently stake his neutral status) includes a chilling yet fitting sample from Alan Parsons Project’s “The Cask of Amontillado” that refers to the monetary differences between two parties and states “What price the crown of a king on his throne;” a line that seems to have been carefully picked to set up the words spoken near the end of the song.
If anything, this track has given Tha Carter IV some convenient buzz near its scheduled digital release date of August 28.
