Michael Vick 100 million twice overAugust 30, 2011
Michael Vick is a $100 million dollar man…again. ESPN’s Andrew Brandt reported last night that Vick signed a 6 year contract worth $100 million dollars with $40 million guaranteed.
What does this mean: You can be forgiven in America. It also means DeSean Jackson may not be around in Philly much longer. It also means Philly believes in Vick as their given his less than stellar play this preseason also. He’s the only NFL player to ever get two $100 million dollar contracts.
Detractors will say that Vick has only started 5 playoff games and at the end of last season he did not play well. They’ll also point to his poor preseason performance this year as well. Last thing, they will point to is his 30th birthday party last year where one of his co-defendants in his dogfighting scandal was shot. Detractors can say what they want, but one thing many can’t say is that they have a professional sports contract t worth $100 million dollars.
Vick has learned his lesson and paid the price. He’s also earned our respect again off the field and on the field. So if the Eagles want to pony up $100 million, more power to them and Mike Vick. Congrats homie.
