Falcons Fans Are Battered WivesSeptember 19, 2011

Life is too short to be mad about things. The art of learning to forgive but not forget takes time to be learned. You will be a peaceful person once you find that balance. Fans in Atlanta are ass backwards right now though. They’ve forgiven, haven’t forgotten, but now their cheering?

Michael Vick is made his return to Atlanta yesterday as the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. The last time he visited Atlanta, he was behind Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb on the depth chart. Now he’s the man again in the place that made him famous and the same place he failed, which is why I don’t understand why Falcons fans were cheering Vick? He set your beloved franchise back two years.

There were a lot of fans booing Vick, and rightfully so since he does play for the opponent. But there were tons Falcons fans wearing old Vick jerseys screaming at the top of their lungs when Vick comes out of the tunnel on Sunday. It wouldn’t have surprised me in the slightest for fans to not be upset one bit if the Falcons lost, because that will have meant Vick won. I don’t think they understand that Vick is no longer flying with their flock, he’s not a Falcon but an Eagle.

I’m a huge Michael Vick fan, but I have to be honest with myself. If I was an ATLien, I would have forgiven Vick and moved on. I’d be happy that he’s succeeding with the Eagles and wish him well. But once he stepped into the Georgia Dome on Sunday, I would have been damned if I was cheering for him. In the eyes of the Falcons fans, Vick can do no wrong it seems.

So what he was your first round pick in 2001. So what he was a three-time Pro Bowler. So what he took your team to the playoffs two years. So what he was the King of Atlanta before T.I. He burned you, and you should never touch a hot stove twice.

The two years in jail for Michael Vick was his debt to society, but he hasn’t paid his debt to Atlanta for that 2007 season. While Vick was gone and the team went 4-12 and it seemed like the city went 0-16. Atlanta Falcons fans should have remembered that season, before they screamed to their top of their lungs like Justin Bieber stans for their former quarterback. Falcons fans should forgive, they should wish him well, realize it’s impossible to forget what he did, but never cheer for him when he’s playing against the Falcons.

You Falcons fans cheering Vick sound like battered wives making multiple excuses for a man that selfishly lied to you, left you battered, bruised, and well under .500.

That’s all I got,

Ricky Writer

  11. Fingers down, Apple??s app retailer wins by a mile. It??s an enormous number of all kinds of apps vs a somewhat sad number of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially within the realm of games, but I??m unsure I??d wish to wager on the long run if this ingredient is principal to you. The iPod is a significantly better desire if so. The major is to have a good figuring out of how Twitter works, and how to maximise your chances of getting backlinks.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
