Oklahoma State lost more than their undefeated season last night when they were upset by a lowly Iowa State. We understand that Oklahoma lost to Texas Tech some time ago which is just as embarrassing. Oklahoma has fought back into the national title race in recent weeks and the whole country was looking toward the Bedlam Game as being a semi-playoff with the winner eventually ending up in New Orleans. That is until Oklahoma State ruined its chances for its first national title game appearance because they could not put away a ,less than average, Iowa State Cyclones team team.
This loss ended any chances for either state school to win the national title because Oklahoma needed OSU to be ranked number 2 when they meet later this year. Conventional wisdom led most Sooner faithful to believe if the Pokes were number two that OU had and opportunity to jump over Oregon and possibly Alabama and make it into the natty. Obviously Oklahoma State’s title hopes were derailed last night but in all likely hood the Oklahoma Sooners title hopes died in Ames, Iowa last night as well.
