FSU vs Miami
This game is not what what it used to be, yet there is a lot of positivity surrounding both programs performance on the field this year. Off the field we all know the troubles at Miami but this is still one of the more interesting match ups this year.
E.J. Manuel has been dynamic for the Noles this year when healthy. It does not help the Canes cause that safety Ray Ray Armstrong is out this week and possibly longer after a ill-fated tweet connecting him to a dinner meeting with a potential agent/manager. Lamar Miller has been special this year for Al Golden becoming the first 1,000 yard rusher in nearly a decade for the Hurricanes. It will be interesting to see how successful the ground game will be against Bjoern Werner and a young but extremely talented Florida State defensive line. Jacory Harris has delivered 30 times more than most fans would have believed previous to this year starting. I think the quarterback Harris or Manuel that can play the most efficient game will lead their team to victory. I think the holes in the Miami secondary will give FSU an advantage at home look for the Noles to win 27-21 in a WAR.
TCU vs Boise State
This is clearly a match up of the Boise offense, led by Kellen Moore, vs the TCU 4-2-5 defense. Remember this should be a home game for TCU, yet the Mountain West pulled the biggest “HO MOVE” in recent history in rewarding Boise the home game after TCU left for the Big East/Big XII.
Boise hasnt lost a regular season home game in a decade so it was basically the MWC telling TCU burn in hell. I still dont believe in the SMURF receiving corp and I think a TCU has the players to slow them down talent wise. The problem with that is Kellen Moore and the Broncos have made a living since Houston Nutt was head coach at doing more with less. If TCU can get some pressure on the always cool Moore they have a chance. Look for TCU to try to play defense with offense keeping the ball away from Moore and company, with a heavy dosage of Waymon James and Ed Wesley. TCU in an upset 33-31
Oregon vs Stanford
For all the hype and Andrew Luck jerseys being sold in Indianapolis this year i think its a complete and total farce that Luck is rated so high on NFL draft boards. Furthermore, I think it is complete and total hype that Stanford is the 4th ranked team in the country.
I DO NOT think that Stanford has anywhere near the talent Oregon brings to the table at every single position outside of offensive line. Does anyone realize that Alabama only gave up 3 more yards than Oregon did against the LSU offense? This Oregon defense is more than ready to hit Stanford right in the mouth and prove that the Card is a fraud. Oregon far outclasses the Stanford defense with James and Barner getting to the edge should be a regular sight on Saturday. Look for Oregon to prove a point and really stick it to Stanford on their home field. Oregon walks the dog in Palo Alto 45-17.
