Football is won in the trenches. We all know this, or at least we all SHOULD know this. But the excitement happens on the islands. Today’s game between LSU and Arkansas will have plenty of action on the outside for you to enjoy.
LSU has the best secondary since the 2001 Miami Hurricanes. Tyrann Mathieu and Morris Claiborne are both out wide on the corners and Eric Reid is back deep at free safety. Arkansas has Joe Adams on the outside at WR and the Ryan Broyles clone, Jarius Wright in the slot.
LSU hasn’t faced this much speed from a WR corps all season long so it’ll be interesting to see how they stack up. On the flip side, the Razorbacks have faced a dope secondary — the Alabama Crimson Tide, and they didn’t fare to well. Bama didn’t give Razorback QB, Tyler Wilson anytime to throw, and when he did have time to sling it the Crimson Tide DBs had their the Arkansas WRs locked up.
Mathieu and Claiborne should be able to contain Adams, but Wright will be the key to this game. Eric Reid will play a pivotal role in stopping Wright, because if he can’t the Razorbacks just may take this game and the SEC West title.
