USC vs. Oregon PreviewNovember 17, 2011

The USC Trojans visit the Oregon Ducks this weekend in a huge game in the inaugural Pac-12 season. Oregon has been impressive outside of the loss to LSU in Dallas where the Ducks couldn’t hold on to the ball to save their lives.
USC counters with what may be the best individual player in the Pac-12 in Matt Barkley and all-world WR, Robert Woods Jr. Woods has been missing practice this week because of a bum ankle and shoulder, so he maybe sidelined on Saturday. I wonder if Cliff Harris is out of Chip Kelley’s doghouse because the Ducks don’t have anybody that can cover Woods. USC needs to play a perfect game to seal one in Eugene on Saturday, but the weather is formidable and it may even snow.
Anything that might slow down Darron Thomas, De’Anthony Thomas, LaMichael James, Kenjon Barner and Josh Huff is going to be a blessing for the Trojans. I can’t think of a more fitting way for USC play the spoiler for the conference than beating Oregon at home and ending their slim chances at a national title. However, speaking of slim chances those are exactly the Trojans chances of winning this one. The Trojans have the talent to beat the Ducks straight up, something most teams in this conference can’t claim. None of that matters if Monte Kniffin keeps the Troy defenders in Tampa 2 all night Oregon might score 78 points. This game will be Barkley to Woods vs Thomas, James and company’s ground and pound. I think the weather helps USC stay close, but home cooking gives the DUCKS the victory 37 27.
