White Brick Mob! Full disclosure, I can’t stand the White Girl Mob movement. Kreayshawn’s lack of content or flow is a small culprit but if I walked around with hate in my heart for every wack rapper I’d be angrier than John Amos. No my disdain is saved for V-Nasty. Count me among the many who just can’t co-sign her use of the dreaded n-word. This wouldn’t be as big a deal breaker as it is if she at least acknowledged why people see it as problematic. Contrast this with my love for Gucci Mane’s flow and underrated honest persona and my feelings coming into this review are decidedly mixed. Eh, let’s gone ahead and dive into it.

Whip Appeal – V-Nasty is pretty good here on the hook. Gucci Mane shows that he’s coming with it on this project. Must’ve thought that pairing up with a white girl was the most brilliant marketing idea ever. V-Nasty puts on a poor Meek Mill flow where she talks about pulling hoes and stealing daughters. Is she a lesbian? P2theLA comes in and cleans up with a verse that not exactly memorable but is at least distinctively Californian.

“Wait…what?” Line: “If I had a dick then I’d tell the bitch to swallow” – V-Nasty

Loaded- Zaytoven with another one of his signature beats. Let me find out this is really a Gucci Mane album with V-Nasty thrown on there. Gucci Mane sounds a little subdued over this one. Maybe he realized he didn’t need to being his A game to shine here. V-Nasty comes through and does her shout flow thing. She could be from anywhere and be talking about anything so making a song about having a lot of money makes her come off as even more of a generic rapper than needed. Mistah F.A.B. comes through with a serviceable verse. His flows on point as usual but dude is really all in supporting the White Girl Mob and V-Nasty and I can’t say I’m not disappointed. In interviews he says it’s too much other stuff to worry about to care about white people dropping n-bombs all willy nilly. Weak sauce you’re not making an argument you’re changing the subject.

“Wait…what?” Line: “She mad at White Girl Mob she can’t join cause she’s Mexican” – Mistah F.A.B.

Let’s Get Faded – This beat from Zaytoven is a little bit more Thizzy. Gucci switches up the flow to play in between the bass drops. Not one of his stronger verses. Gucci gets off when he’s running through a beat and is stacking metaphor on top punchline on top of metaphors. V-Nasty sticks to the script and let’s her flow loosen up a bit more here. I can’t say I’m not amused by her punchlines about pulling chicks for the Brick Squad. V-Nasty has the best verse on this song. *Takes shot*

“Wait…what?” Line: “Money flying out the anus, my swag in Uranus” – Gucci Mane

White Girl – I know, I know the subject matter couldn’t be more predictable. Gucci seems to be handling the hook duties for most of the album. Gucci comes through with some more personality throughout his verse. Ad-libs bouncing around in the background reminds you of why you like Gucci in the first place. V-Nasty comes through a little too excited for her verse. You can tell when she’s trying to pack as many syllables in as possible and she ends up with a Silk the Shocker effect of having to slow down to get back on beat. Wait did Silk The Shocker’s time in the Bay inform his rap style?

“Wait…what?” Line: Nothing really jumped out here.

Push Ups – Zaytoven does his thing on the beat here. Gucci Mane comes out ripping his verse. The faster his flow the better the song it seems on this one from Gucci. It’s not really fair to V-Nasty. Slim Dunkin acts as a buffer and makes you wish that this was strictly Brick Squad affair. This beat is just too big for V-Nasty so it forces her back into the shout flow. I know subtlety isn’t her forte’ but she’d benefit greatly by adding a more understated flow to her repertoire to serve as a contrast.

“Wait…what?” Line: “I’m hotter than Obama, everytime I hit the mic I eat it up, Osama” – V-Nasty

Food Plug - Gucci Mane has been pretty focused so far. He’s not getting into any territory where he doesn’t shine. Not reaching for pop charts does him well. V-Nasty does an especially poor job of coming off as a convincing trapper. This must have been’s Eminem’s nightmare when he was dissing white rappers left and right. Berner comes through and picks it up something serious.

“Wait…what?” Line: “Damn how a white bitch more hood than David Banner” – V-Nasty

Out My Circle – Tha Bizness provides a different sound for this beat. Might be the best song on the album so far. Gucci is putting out some A+ material. It’s easy to overlook with all the fxckery that seems to surround dude but he should be a star right now with lines like “Gucci Nickelodeon, You just a custodian, I never say never so I might be cooking dope again” you see why the same thing that makes him appealing limits his ceiling. With a better hook I’d love to hear this one over the radio. V-Nasty would have to be comatose to not sound good over this beat.

“Wait…what?” Line: “Why you say I aint mobbin cause I’m Caucasian” – V-Nasty but she pronounces it Carcajun

Hate Me Some More – After the break on the last track the similarity between the rest of the tracks become a tad more glaring. V-Nasty surprisingly misses an opportunity to chide all the reverse racists in the hip hop proletariat. If there was any song to drop one of her patented “can you believe I’m a white girl rapping” lines you’d expect it to be here. I guess we’ll just have to settle for a sub-par verse instead.

“Wait…what?” Line: Surprisingly none here

Millions Every Month – I know V-Nasty has been in jail but all this pimping, trapping, and choppers talk is really hard to buy. Gucci Mane addresses all the face tattoo haters. Remember when that was a story? Crazy times. Otherwise there’s really nothing new here. Beat sounds familiar, subject matter sounds familiar. We really could do without this particular song but then again you could say that about the album. I’m getting punchy. Three more songs to go.

“Wait…what?” Line: “Niggas aint eating like the kids in Ethiopia” – Gucci Mane

Fill My Shoes – Two songs about not being able to fill Gucci’s shoes. Come on. Gucci hears my plea and puts on the fast flow that I’m a fan of but I’m still wondering why we couldn’t get some more diverse producers on the project. V-Nasty let’s us know that we know she isn’t racist. It’s just hatred. Well then.

“Wait…what?” Line: “Leave a bxtch broke, like my tooth” – V-Nasty

Fxck You – V-Nasty comes through with her best verse so far. She has a habit of dropping her L’s when she’s rapping that makes standard punchlines sound off the wall genuinely crazy until you realize what she really said. The hook leaves a lot to be desired. Gucci gets off one of his few lover raps which means lines like “Don’t tell me what you won’t do”. Slim Dunkin comes through and shines even incorporating a little of 2 Chainz flow to get a nice groove going.

“Wait…what?” Line: “I got a bad bxtch and she’s elegant bet 100K that bxtch selling it” V-Nasty

Sick Swag – This song has a sick ass Bay area beat. Gucci Mane adds a little flourish to his verse drawing out his words on the punchline to better ride the beat. V-Nasty should eat given this is her natural territory but the enthusiasm and flow just aren’t quite there. It’s like she isn’t excited by her own album. The song is nice and short though and the beat is sick enough for you to wonder why they didn’t use this formula for the rest of the album.
