Snoop Dogg’s Son Sophomore Son offered Scholarship to UCLAJune 25, 2012

Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus has been offered his first football scholarship from UCLA to play football at the school.

Broadus is entering his sophomore year at Diamond Bar High School this Fall. He has played wide receiver and defensive back for the freshman team this past school year.

“We’re expecting him to really lead us the next three years,” Diamond Bar High School football coach Ryan Maine told ESPN. “Hopefully [our athletes] get bigger, stronger and keep leading this team.”

Broadus wouldn’t be a Freshman at UCLA until 2015, so to get a scholarship offer means he’s really good or that UCLA head coach, Jim Mora Jr. is just trying to build some hype for his program.

Last month, UCLA received a lot of backlash after Sean P.Diddy Combs’ son Justin was offered a scholarship to play defensive back. The beef was that Diddy has the money to pay for the tuition and that state money shouldn’t be used to pay for his scholarship. That argument is null and void because the athletic department at public universities is not state funded, but funded by donors, alumni, ticket sales etc.

I doubt Broadus signs. If he’s good enough to get an offer as a Sophomore and gets better then crosstown rival USC will probably come calling and we all know where Snoop’s allegiance lies…
