From 2001 – 2010, the man with the easiest job was the San Diego Chargers groundskeeper. Tomlinson was a million dollar running lawn mower and cut like a Craftsman every time he was on the field. The kid from Texas that was overlooked by the Longhorns and the Aggies turned out to be one of the best college running backs of all-time at TCU. The NFL knew better than to pass on LT, and the San Diego selected him 5th overall in 2001. After a brief two year stint as a New York Jet, Tomlinson signed with the Chargers today and announced his retirement.
He was never as flashy as Barry, but he was just as quick. Make no mistake about it, his vision was better than Emmitt and he caught the ball better than Thurman too. Look at his numbers: 13, 684 rushing yards, 145 rushing touchdowns, 18,456 all-purpose yards and 162 touchdowns total in 11 years and 0 surgeries.
