2012 Olympic American Football TournamentAugust 6, 2012

We know you’re all glad the Olympics are going down, but you know just like we do that they’d be that much cooler with football. No, not fĂștbol, we mean American football. Imagine what it would be like if the NFL’s best went head to head with the player’s that other countries had to offer. We made it easy for you, because we went ahead and did that. Find out what we think would happen if American football was an Olympic sport.

First Round

Egypt vs. Great Britain
Message to Egpyt: Home field advantage means a whole lot. Especially in the Olympics.

Mexico vs. Switzerland
The Swedes might be just a little too physical for Mexico, whose red zone defense is suspect.

Korea vs. Spain
Korea’s weapons of mass destruction are in the air, while Spain’s are on the ground. This will be an all-out nuclear warfare of offense.

Japan vs. United States
There’s no way Japan is stopping Aaron Rodgers to Calvin Johnson. There’s just no way.

Second Round

Switzerland vs. Great Britain
This would be another physical match, but Great Britain QB Josh Worthingham isn’t letting his team lose.

Spain vs. United States
Whether your bring Ray Rice out of the backfield or line him up in the slot, Spain has no answer for him.

Championship Game

Great Britain vs. United States
Ah, the matchup that everyone wanted. Though it would be an epic battle, we see Great Britain’s receivers getting stranded on Revis Island. Aaron Rodgers becomes an Olympic Gold Medalist—something Brett Favre never accomplished.
