6Magazine 2012 NFL Previews: Buffalo BillsAugust 7, 2012
Last season
The Bills got off to a great start. Then QB, Ryan Fitzpatrick, came down to earth and running back Fred Jackson got hurt. After that, they were back to being the Buffalo Bills we’ve all come to know and be disappointed in for the past ten years.
2012 Offense
Ryan Fitzpatrick will have learned from his mistakes and play like Pac-12 QB with a Ivy league mind. We know Fred Jackson is going to show up in the backfield, but will C.J. Spiller? For the Bills to make a dent on the AFC East, Spiller will need to step up. The middle of the offensive line is great, but the tackles…not so much. Stevie Johnson is on the outside and will play well, but they team doesn’t have a quality #2 WR.
2012 Defense
Mario Williams and Mark Anderson will be on both ends of the front line with Kyle Williams and Marcell Dareus on the inside. Their front line is mean! The linebackers are suspect, and the secondary has question marks. The corners are young with first round draft pick, Stephon Gilmore and second year player Aaron Williams. Veteran CB, Terrance McGee is coming off of a torn patella injury. The safeties, George Wilson and Jarius Byrd are very good.
Outlook
The Bills know what it takes to win now. If they can stay healthy, with last year’s experience and an improved pass rush, the Bills will make the playoffs, easy.
