6Magazine 2012 NFL Previews: San Francisco 49ersAugust 20, 2012

Last season

Jim Harbaugh saved Alex Smith’s career. He peeled back a few layers, got rid of some of Smith’s baggage an discovered an quality NFL quarterback. The 49ers were easily the toughest team in the NFL last season.
In a league that was pass happy, the 49ers kept it old school with ground and pound.

2012 Offense

Alex Smith is back. Frank Gore is back. And…the offensive line is back and that’s all that really matters. Veron Davis is ready to step up and truly be one of the elite tight ends in the game. They’ve added firepower with Mario Manningham, A.J. Jenkins and some old fart named Randy Moss.

2012 Defense

Patrick Willis is all you really need. Let’s hope Carlos Rogers has the same type of season this year that he had in 2012.

Outlook

Super Bowl or bust.
