New Arkansas and Iowa Riddell 360 HelmetsAugust 30, 2012


This year, the University of Iowa and University of Arkansas will be among the first NCAA football programs to be outfitted in the newest, most advanced football helmet technology: the Riddell 360.

The Riddell 360 has advanced protective and performance technologies increasing player protection. It has a dope design, more comfort benefits, and strategic protection advancements have earned the 360 helmet the highest possible 5-STAR Helmet Rating from the engineers at Virginia Tech.

A couple of features of the helmet are:

· Oversized vent holes that allow for more air circulation, and a removable, moisture-resistant anti-microbial overliner to keep the head cool and dry
· A hexagonal liner system, energy managing materials and strategically placed face mask hinge clips to reduce forces from frontal impacts
· Enhanced occipital lock that cradles the head, ensuring the ultimate in fit, comfort and stability

Oregon, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Florida State, Florida and the University of Miami will also be wearing the Riddell 360 technology this year.
