Here are the quick hits and jukes from this weekend’s football action.
College Football
Ole Miss vs. Alabama
Best team in the country. Couldn’t beat an NFL team….couldn’t keep it close but that 1st quarter would be very respectable.
Oregon vs. Washington State
Too damn fast….I mean did you see Kenjon Barner skate off on them boys? They can beat Stanford but will not be able to beat USC.
Towson vs. LSU
Too many mistakes for LSU. Going to be in trouble when they play Bama. What’s Honey Badger been up too lately?
Florida State vs. South Florida
Knew FSU would come out unfocused on the road after the tough win against Clemson.
Tennessee vs. Georgia
51-44? Sounds more like a Big 12 score to me. Tennessee is about a year away…or maybe just a more focused Tyler Bray away. Even if Isaiah Crowell had stayed…he would have still been the third best RB on this team. Those freshman in the backfield for Georgia?!?!
South Carolina vs. Kentucky
Darkhorse Heisman candiate — Connor Shaw.
Stanford vs. Washington
Stanford was doomed to lose this one from the beginning of the game. Andrew Luck couldn’t have saved them from that upset.
Baylor vs. West Virginia
I’ve seen better defense in Arena Football League games.
Texas vs. Oklahoma State
David Ash is going 30/37 now? Wow. Might be time for Case McCoy to transfer.
Ohio State vs. Michigan State
This game was soooooooo boring.
TCU vs. SMU
Didn’t watch a lick of this game.
Clemson vs. Boston College
Boston College uniforms looked cool…but that was about it for them.
Oregon State vs. Arizona
Outside of USC, Oregon State has the best chance of beating Oregon this year.
Louisville vs. Southern Miss
Raining cats and cardinals….Louisville dodged a serious bullet getting a win.
Wisconsin vs. Nebraska
Great marketing by adidas to make sure both teams play in their new uniforms on national TV. Can we please give Rex Burkhead the attention he deserves? Thanks.
Boise State vs. New Mexico
A down year for Boise…but trust…they’ll be getting on your nerves and in the top 10 next year.
NFL
Browns vs. Ravens
Brandon Weeden is barely playing well enough to keep Colt McCoy on the bench. Torrey Smith is restoring respect to Maryland football after Shawne Merriman and Darius Heyward-Bey kind of fucked it up.
Panthers vs. Falcons
Starring this Fall, from September to December in an Way the Hell off Broadway play…watch Cam Newton star in…The Sophomore Slump. Like I don’t wish for anyone to lose their jobs…I swear I don’t. I think Benny Sapp was unfairly fired last year after Wes Welker torched him on Monday night football, but is Haruki Nakamura still employed?
Patriots vs. Bills
So…the Patriots were down…21-7 in the beginning of the third quarter but somehow ended up winning 52-38. Ryan Fitzpatrick….Mario Williams….? Umm I’d rather travel back in time to 2008 and buy a house.
Vikings vs. Lions
The Detroit Lions won’t let the Detroit Lions be great. If they don’t let Minnesota score two special teams touchdowns, the Lions win that game.
Chargers vs. Chiefs
The Chargers are looking good…..like playoffs good.
Seahawks vs. Rams
Russell Wilson growing pains started yesterday. But listen Young Russell…tough times don’t last but tough quaterbacks do. Good things happen when you keep Sam Bradford upright. He can either be Troy Aikman or David Carr…it’s up to you Rams front office on who you want him to become.
49ers vs. Jets
Rex Ryan doesn’t deserve to be fired. It’s the GM who decided not to draft any talent to put around Mark Sanchez.
Titans vs. Texans
The Texans look good now, but the best team in the first quarter of the season rarely wins it all. It’s always who’s the hottest at the end of the season.
Raiders vs. Broncos
I wish these idiots that say Peyton Manning would just go away. Like please can we have them deported for treason or something. I don’t know. It’s just frustrating.
Dolphins vs. Cardinals
Most players give up drinking, drugs, going to the strip club to get focused and play better. Kevin Kolb just gave up hunting and fishing and look at him….looking like a Pro Bowl QB. Ryan Tannehill has officially supplanted himself as the third best QB in this draft class also.
Bengals vs. Jaguars
No, I didn’t watch this game. What do I look like.
Saints vs. Packers
Aaron Rodgers looks like Lebron when he played for Cleveland out there. Damn…he literally has to put the entire team on his back. What’s going on with Dom Capers’ defense?
Really feel sorry the Saints.
Redskins vs. Buccaneers
RGIII’s first 4th quarter comeback win. Nice. Josh Freeman is in year 4 and something still isn’t clicking.
Giants vs. Eagles
The Giants always start slow. Always. How bad of a QB do you have to be, for people to say “Michael Vick didn’t throw any interceptions, he had a great game”. I’m a Vick fan so I’m glad they Eagles won and he played well…but damn Mike…cut down on the picks.
